Planning Officer (Enforcement & Development Management)

Grade: 4/5 (Grade 5 is subject to RTPI membership/qualification)

Salary: £21,074 - £30,756 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

We are seeking to appoint an Enforcement Planner to join our small team charged with providing the Development Management (DM) service for the National Park.  Ideally, you will already have experience in Enforcement or DM with a good knowledge and understanding of current planning legislation and procedures, be suitably qualified and a corporate member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).

Not yet qualified?  We are still interested to hear from you if you are working towards becoming a Chartered Planner in the near future. This post could be the ideal stepping stone to a career in Planning.

A flexible approach is key; expect to be involved in a wide range of enforcement cases, committee work, appeals and applications.

Appointment at Grade 5 (starting at £25,463) will apply if you are a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI). At this higher grade, additional responsibilities include dealing with applications, making recommendations and presenting your reports to the DM Committee and representing the Authority at appeals.

The Authority operates flexible working hours and is a member of the Local Government Pension Scheme.

The post is based at our stunning headquarters on the National Trust’s Parke estate on the outskirts of Bovey Tracey.
