Planning Policy - Technical Background
Planning policy must be based on a good understanding of the area and its issues. Government has a set process for adopting a local plan, which we must follow:
- Annual Monitoring Report – this sets out background data on the local plan
- Planning – Having Your Say (the Statement of Community Involvement) – this describes how we involve people in the planning application and local plan review process
- Local Development Scheme – this is the ‘timetable’ for reviewing the local plan
We also have a large amount of evidence and research, which helps us monitor and review the local plan.
