About Us
Dartmoor National Park Authority is the body that oversees the vibrant, living, working landscape and community that is Dartmoor.
We help to conserve and enhance the biodiversity, cultural heritage and landscape of Dartmoor and provide opportunities for people to enjoy the countryside as well as supporting our local communities and the rural economy.
We are now looking for a Dartmoor Tests and Trials Project Assistant to join our dedicated team. The post is being advertised for 3 days per week, but there may be funding available to work additional hours to support the project.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and influence the new emerging Environment Land Management System (ELMS) being established to help deliver the Government 25-year Environment Plan.
Dartmoor National Park Authority is coordinating one of several Tests and Trials (T&T) projects across the country committed to helping shape the new system to ensure that it is as impactful, relevant and meaningful as possible in relation to managing the environmental pressures we are all facing. This is a Defra funded project delivered through a broad partnership which has the Dartmoor farming community at the heart of design and delivery.
This new phase will explore innovative payment methods to reward land managers for delivering public goods and explore alternative options to improve administration of schemes.
The Dartmoor Tests and Trials Project Assistant will work closely with commoners and other partners to help coordinate delivery of the project. The post holder will arrange events, manage communications, monitor finances and provide administrative support.
