About the challenge

Wherever you live there are wild places to discover. This could be a neglected patch in your garden or somewhere you’ve never been close to where you live. Or with over 366 square miles to choose from there is bound to be some wild place on Dartmoor you’ve never been. Wherever you go tread lightly and give nature space.

To discover your wild place you could visit your local park , or country park,  explore a local nature reserve, visit a National Nature reserve or discover Dartmoor National Park.

Still not sure where to go. Look at an Ordnance Survey map of the area. Look for where the public footpaths go, look for woodlands and common land where there is public access. Look online at wildlife organisations such as Devon Wildlife Trust, National Trust, RSPB, Forestry Commission and Woodland Trust  to see where some of their wild places are which you can visit.
