Discover National Parks Fortnight
Join us in celebrating a milestone anniversary for National Parks this National Parks Fortnight 6th to 21st April!
The National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act was passed in 1949 resulting in the first National Parks in the UK being designated in 1951 – Dartmoor was one of four areas of land to receive National Park status that year. This year sees the 70th anniversary of the passing of that Act.
To commemorate this momentous Act, we're running an action-packed programme of events. From letterboxing to navigation, and storytelling to caving, there is something for everyone and all ages to get involved with.
Pick up a copy of the events programme from one of our Visitor Centres or print your own pocket-sized version to take with you when you're out and about.
