Come and enjoy an activity on Dartmoor with the Rangers as part of the Ranger Ralph Club!
The Ranger Ralph Club is open to all children between the ages of 5-12 years and is ideal for the young nature enthusiast in your family.
Ranger Ralph meets on a regular basis and each activity is safely led by a Dartmoor National Park Ranger. The club runs up to twelve outdoor events per year. These are all free to attend once you are a member.

If you live locally, or are coming to Dartmoor when an event is on, why not book and join in. Remember to bring your membership card!
Saturday 23 March - 10.30 - 12.30 (2hrs)
Lambing Live
Come and experience life on the farm at lambing time.
Meet at Greenwell Farm, Nr. Meavy, Yelverton GR(SX 535 659)
Numbers will be limited on this event, so we only have space for one adult per child or family, with more than one child member. There will not be spaces for siblings or additional adults on this one. Priority will go to those that have not attended this event before. Thereafter, a waiting list will be administered.
This event is not suitable for expectant mothers. Sheep can carry infections that can risk the health of the mother and the unborn child.

Air Bee and Bee
Come and learn about why bees are so important to Dartmoor farmers. Make a bee motel and more.
Meet at GR (SX 703 852) Stiniel Common, Chagford.

Tuesday 28 May – 10.00 - 12.00 (2 hours)
D ’arty moor
Join Ranger Bill to explore Haytor with a sketch pad and pencil. With regular stops, we will look at texture and shapes and then enjoy some time drawing and sharing masterpieces in the quarry.
Meet in the Haytor middle car park GR (SX 763 769) the next car park up from the visitor centre and bring along a picnic lunch to sit together after the event if you would like to.

Saturday 29 June – 10.00 - 12.00 (2 hours)
Storymakers
Do you know the tales of Vixana the witch or Hunter Bowerman? Can you find the magical stories behind the mossy rocks or the tinkling brook? Bring your imagination for a morning of adventures, exploring and tall tales then create a puppet from natural materials to bring your own story to life.
Meet at Hound Tor Car Park GR (SX 7395 7921)
Take the B3357 Bovey Tracey-Widecombe Road, 1/2 mile from Hemsworthy gate cattle grid take signed turning for Hound Tor. Meet in large car park near road junction west of tor.

Booking is essential for these activities as numbers are limited. These events are for Ranger Ralph Club members only.
Please book by telephoning 01626 831080. Please note that we are often out on the moors so may not answer immediately but do leave a message and we will get back to you on our return. Alternatively, you can send an email to education@dartmoor.gov.uk
Bookings are only taken from three weeks before each event. If, for any reason ,you find you cannot make the event, please call and cancel. This will give other people the opportunity to book.
