Come and enjoy an activity on Dartmoor with the Rangers as part of the Ranger Ralph Club!

The Ranger Ralph Club is open to all children between the ages of 5-12 years and is ideal for the young nature enthusiast in your family.

Ranger Ralph meets on a regular basis and each activity is safely led by a Dartmoor National Park Ranger. The club runs up to twelve outdoor events per year. These are all free to attend once you are a member.

How to join the Ranger Ralph club

If you live locally, or are coming to Dartmoor when an event is on, why not book and join in. Remember to bring your membership card!

Fossil Hunters

In a now-disused quarry, the caves in coral limestones were formed more than 300 million years ago. Find out how the caves developed and visit one of them where you can see the fossilised bones of elephant, hippo, bison, lion, hyena and other animals that lived in the Dart Valley 100,000 years ago.
Visit the small museum where you can handle some of the bones. Find out about the bats that live in the caves and make a plaster cast fossil to take home.
Meet at Pengelly Centre, Russets Lane, Buckfastleigh, TQ11 0DY.

If, for any reason, you find you cannot make the event, please call and cancel. This will give other people the opportunity to book. Sorry, but we do not allow dogs on our events.
