Come and enjoy an activity on Dartmoor with the Rangers as part of the Ranger Ralph Club!
The Ranger Ralph Club is open to all children between the ages of 5-12 years and is ideal for the young nature enthusiast in your family.
Ranger Ralph meets on a regular basis and each activity is safely led by a Dartmoor National Park Ranger. The club runs up to twelve outdoor events per year. These are all free to attend once you are a member.
If you live locally, or are coming to Dartmoor when an event is on, why not book and join in. Remember to bring your membership card!
Booking is essential for these activities as numbers are limited. These events are for Ranger Ralph Club members only.
Saturday 12 September – 10.00-11.30am
Not quite a ‘Night at the Museum’ – but a great day of discovery.
The museum is the perfect place to start your Dartmoor exploration. Join us as part of the Ranger Ralph club to find out about prehistoric Dartmoor and how it was to live and work on Dartmoor.
*Step inside the full-scale round house reconstruction with granite walls and a thatched roof.
*See a fully equipped Victorian kitchen 19th-century kitchen and washhouse.
*Experience the Forge, a local blacksmith’s shop, faithfully rebuilt stone-by-stone inside the museum.
Explore real objects and uncover local stories bringing Dartmoor’s past to life. Try the 15 things trail, design a postcard to take home, have fun dressing up, build a stone circle plus lots more.

Ranger Ralph to the Rescue - Visit to North Dartmoor Search & Rescue Team
Join the North Dartmoor Search & Rescue team to learn about the various vehicles and types of equipment they use when they receive a callout to assist lost, missing or injured people on the moor.
There will be opportunity to get involved with stretcher carrying and acting as the casualty .You can also experience sitting in a range of their important vehicles, plus wearing and testing other equipment.
Meet at Unit 3, Hameldown Road, Okehampton, EX20 1UB,which is off the B3260 and accessed via Beardown Road. What3Words:///warms.slugs.silly
This event can host 20 children plus adults.

Bookings are only taken from three weeks before each event. If, for any reason ,you find you cannot make the event, please call and cancel. This will give other people the opportunity to book.
Sorry, but we do not allow dogs on our Ranger Ralph events.
