Come and enjoy an activity on Dartmoor with the Rangers as part of the Ranger Ralph Club!
The Ranger Ralph Club is open to all children between the ages of 5-12 years and is ideal for the young nature enthusiast in your family.
Ranger Ralph meets on a regular basis and each activity is safely led by a Dartmoor National Park Ranger. The club runs up to twelve outdoor events per year. These are all free to attend once you are a member.
How to join the Ranger Ralph club
If you live locally, or are coming to Dartmoor when an event is on, why not book and join in. Remember to bring your membership card!
Booking is essential for these activities as numbers are limited. These events are for Ranger Ralph Club members only.
Saturday 1 November, 16.30 – 19.00
Ranger Ralph Bat Walk –
Join us for a guided walk around the grounds of the Parke estate, use bat detectors to listen in to different bat calls and identify the different habitats that bat species prefer.
Make your own crafty bat and spooky lantern to take home.
Fancy dress welcomed but optional. Let's get spooky.
Please also bring warm layers, waterproof coat, headtorch or handheld torch, and sturdy footwear.

Car park free to National Trust members and Blue Badge holders, or £3 for 2 hours and £5 for all day.

Water, water everywhere, but is there a clean drop to drink?
Come and take the water filtration challenge. Build a water filter and learn how nature can clean water.
This exciting activity copies how natural and engineered filters clean dirty water by removing particles and sediments. While the resulting water will not be good enough to drink you will learn how filtration systems help purify water around the world.
Please bring an empty 2 litre plastic bottle if you can.
Meet at Burrator Discovery Centre, PL20 6PE on the western shore of Burrator reservoir (SX 552 685). Free parking available.

Bookings are only taken from three weeks before each event. If, for any reason ,you find you cannot make the event, please call and cancel. This will give other people the opportunity to book.
