Some schools wishing to use our Education Guide Service may find that transport costs are a barrier to them visiting Dartmoor National Park.
We have a limited number of Education Guide Service Travel Grants which can cover travel costs up to £450.

Eligibility

• All state-funded schools and colleges with 30% or more pupils in receipt of Pupil Premium or with 30% or more pupils eligible for free school meals, are eligible to apply for the grant.
• Grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis when applied for alongside a booking with our Education Guide Service
• Grants will be paid upon completion of a visit to Dartmoor with our Education Guides Service
• Schools who have received a Travel Grant in 2024/2025 are not eligible

The grants are administered and funded by Dartmoor National Park Authority with additional funding from Forest Holidays.

How do I apply?

• Contact our Education Guide Service to provisionally book a date for a visit. Enquire about Education Guide Service Travel Grant and if eligible request application form
• Plan your transport for the visit including availability and cost.
• Confirm your Booking with the Education Guide Service
• Confirm your Booking with transport provider.
• Have a great visit to Dartmoor
• Complete and return Outdoor Learning Grant application form to us after your visit along with a copy of the transport invoice
• We will pay the Grant after your school visit.
