As required by the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026, Dartmoor National Park Authority gives notice of intention to commence preparation of a new combined Local Plan and Minerals and Waste Plan.

The plan will be known as the Dartmoor Local Plan 2026 (emerging) and will cover the area of the Dartmoor National Park as shown on the map below:

Where can you find the local plan timetable?

A copy of the published local plan timetable is available on the Authority’s Local Plan 2026 (emerging) timetable webpage.

Date expected to start preparing the local plan

The Authority expect to pass through Gateway 1 and start preparing the plan on 30 October 2026. This will mark the start of the 30-month plan preparation process.
