Biographical Details

Dan was born in Plymouth and has lived the greater part of his life in the village of Yealmpton, where he is a Parish Councillor. He has been a South Hams District Councillor (representing the Ward of Newton & Yealmpton) since 2019, and has been leader of the Council since 2025. Elected to Devon County Council in 2021 - representing South Brent and Yealmpton: much of the north of the division sits on the southern hinterland of the moor - Dan is currently the Cabinet Member for Highways on DCC.

Formerly General Manager at Plymouth Argyle, he is a qualified primary school teacher, though juggling with his various Local Authority responsibilities means that he now works on a part-time basis as a supply teacher.

Married with 3 children, Dan and his family spend as much time as possible on the moor or local beaches, enjoying the stunning scenery that Devon affords. He is passionate about listening to the views of local people in informing decisions that directly affect them.
