Biographical Details

Guy lives in South Brent with his wife Cathie, who is a former Member of the Authority. A retired television journalist and University Lecturer he has lived in or on the edge of the National Park ever since.

A Life Member of the Dartmoor Preservation Association, Guy has enjoyed walking the Moor for over 50 years. He is District Councillor for the South Brent Ward, which takes in a large area of the Southern Moor, and a Member of South Brent Parish Council.

Guy has a wide range of interests and leisure pursuits, including volunteering with the South Devon Railway and the National Trust. He helped with the formation of Ivybridge Rugby Club, where he is a Life Member, and enjoys exploring the coast and countryside, history, gardening, classical music, sports, and amateur dramatics.

He was founding Chairman of the Brent Island Trust, which won the Edward Morshead Award for projects within the Dartmoor National Park and was runner-up in the competition for initiatives in all National Parks in England and Wales.
