Biographical Details

Gay is a farmer’s daughter who has lived in Chagford Parish for the majority of her life and attend the the local school.  She left home and went to Oxford to become a nurse.

She was the District Nurse Midwife for Chagford and surrounding Parishes and twenty years later became a Community CNS for Hospiscare, working with all the Northern Parishes of the National Park for twenty five years.

Gay became a Parish Councillor in 2006 and has also been Chairman, as well as being a member of the Devon Association of Local Councils. She is a trustee of the Chagford Combined Charity and the Providence School Charity for Young Persons. She has one son and two granddaughters who live locally.
