Local Plan Timetable

Dartmoor National Park Authority is required to publish a timetable for the preparation of the Dartmoor Local Plan 2026 (emerging). This timetable satisfies the requirements of Regulations 4 and 5 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026 and section 15b of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004. It will have effect from 29th June 2026.
The Dartmoor Local Plan 2026 (emerging) will cover the whole of the Dartmoor National Park. The Local Plan will be a combined Local Plan and Minerals and Waste Plan. It will set out a vision, spatial strategy, allocate sites for development and provide detailed policies to assess planning applications and ensure development furthers the purposes of the National Park.
The Dartmoor Local Plan will include policies relating to the design of development within the plan area, as required by Section 15F(1) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (as amended). The Authority is monitoring emerging Government policy and guidance in relation to design and placemaking.
The Authority does not intend to prepare any supplementary plans at this time.
