Historic Landscape at High House Waste Guided walk

Thursday, 9 July 2026 at 10:00 - 13:00

A walk and talk at High House Waste with Dr Martin Gillard of Dartmoor National Park and the South West Peatland Partnership.

We will look at the historic landscape of this area – from the Bronze Age to the medieval and beyond, discussing what we know about these often sparsely documented settlements and fields. Martin has been investigating and working in the uplands of the Southwest since the last millennia and has been visiting and researching High House Waste.

Walk of about 3.5 miles that will include some rough terrain and a hill climb of about 100m.

Organised by Dartmoor Preservation Association. All places must be booked in advance

Location: High House Waste, SX610625. We will park and meet at the Cornwood Inn, as we will then car share up to HHW due to limited parking.
