Challenge 24: Discover more about 5 moorland plants

Points available: 3
About the challenge
Develop your observation skills on a moorland walk. Find 5 interesting plants which are special to the habitat you are walking in. Look at them closely then photograph or sketch then so that all the important parts are shown. Make notes on any interesting details you spot. For example, if it is in flower how many petals does it have? Is it hairy or smooth? What shape are its leaves and how do they grow on the plant stem? What is the ground like where it is growing?
Helpful tips
A magnifying glass or hand lens is useful to be able to look really closely at your chosen plants. If you are making a sketch you can use arrows to label the interesting parts or things you have spotted.
