About the challenge

The litter and rubbish that gets dropped in the countryside not only looks unpleasant but can also be really harmful to wildlife.

Follow the Ranger Code and make sure whenever you are out in the countryside that you take your rubbish home with you. Then you can recycle what you can and dispose of the rest in your bin.

Keep a bread bag or similar in your pocket or bag and use it to collect those odd little bits of rubbish you might find on a walk. It might only be a few bits of litter but imagine if everyone did the same thing. When the bag is full tie a knot in it, tie it to your bag and take it home to put in your bin

Helpful tips

Keep some gloves with you to protect your hands and be very careful with if you find broken glass. When you are on Dartmoor look out for the Rangers' two minute litter pick challenge.
