Points available: 3
About the challenge
Find somewhere you can sit and watch the birds. This could be your garden or favourite wild place. For a week, spend 10 minutes each day watching out for them and record the birds that you see.
Find out more about your three most common visitors using a bird book or use this online guide from the RSPB.
Helpful tips
When you are trying to identify birds, try to work out how big they are compared to birds you can recognise. Look for the shape of the beak - some have very thin beaks, others have big strong seed-breaking beaks. Look for any strange markings around the head and eyes or patches of colour on the wings. This will help you when use your identification guides.
