Consultation: Draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

Consultation: Draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

Have your say: Draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

Dartmoor National Park Authority is reviewing its Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) . A document that sets out how we engage with communities, organisations, and individuals on planning applications and the preparation of key planning documents.

We're inviting feedback on our updated draft SCI, which includes updated information on how people can get involved in planning applications and policymaking as well as updates to reflect recent legislative and policy changes, and best practise. In particular we will no longer send letters to neighbouring properties to notify them of planning applications but will continue to use Site Notices to publicise each application.

This consultation is an opportunity for you to let us know if the SCI clearly explains how and when you can get involved in planning decisions, and whether there are any improvements we could make.

We remain committed to meaningful public involvement in planning and want to ensure the SCI is clear, proportionate, and effective. Your feedback will help shape how we consult on planning matters across Dartmoor.

Consultation runs from the 14th July to 25th August
