Buckfastleigh Caves guided walks

Walks start at 11am and 2pm from 30 July to 28 August.
The William Pengelly Cave Studies Centre at Buckfastleigh Devon will be open for guided walks on every Wednesday and Thursday in August.
Here, in a now-disused quarry, are caves in limestones that were formed more than 300 million years ago. Find out how the caves developed and visit one where you can see the fossilised bones of elephant, hippo, bison, lion, hyena and other animals that lived in the Dart Valley some 100,000 years ago. Then browse our small, friendly museum where you can handle some of the bones.
Please wear suitable footwear and clothing. Tours take approximately 1.5hrs
For advance booking go to Eventbrite or to our website at https://pengellytrust.org/ For the day walks (limit of 30 per walk) booking is advisable but you can just turn up and join the walk if there is space.
