Meavy Oak Fair is a traditional village fair held in the village of Meavy, one mile from Yelverton. The long running Fair is always held on the third Saturday in June, which this year is Saturday 15th June 2019. The Fair starts at 2pm with a pageant by all pupils at Meavy Primary School and the renowned Burrator Horseshoe Run, which attracts over 150 runners, sets off at 2:30pm starting and finishing at the village green. There is a family dog show and a variety of attractions including children’s games, a bouncy castle, Dartmoor hill ponies, food and drink, plants and trade stalls. Many people from surrounding towns and villages attend the Fair.
