Why not come to Widecombe on Tuesday 8th September and soak up the rural tranquillity and a way of life that has gone on for centuries in these valleys. Sheep shearing competitions, cattle, sheep and pony classes, vintage cars and agricultural machinery. With live folk music in the beer tent from 10.00am through to midnight, there is good local food to be tried, main ring entertainment to be enjoyed and loads of interesting stalls to explore. To see you into the evening there is bale throwing and tug of war with on going entertainment in the beer tent, there is something for everyone. If you haven’t been for a while you’ll find that a lot of things have changed for the better and that more than ever before this annual fair gives you a flavour of real country life up here in the hills and valleys of Dartmoor.
