Biographical Details

Lois Samuel moved from Sheffield to Okehampton in 2002 when she married Dairy farmer Ben Samuel. Lois manages a women’s centre on their farm who support woman who face life controlling issues such as drugs and alcohol.

In 2015 Lois was elected as a Borough Councillor for West Devon and was portfolio for Health and Wellbeing for 2 years,  she then became Deputy Leader for 4 years.

Recently Lois was elected as a Devon County Councillor for Okehampton Rural and is passionate to make a difference within the farming and health care communities in the district.

Lois also sits on one of the LGA – Local Government Association Board and the champion for Domestic abuse on behalf of the LGA.
