Planning applications are generally decided by using the planning policies within the current local plan. The local plan comprises the following adopted documents. The examination of the new Local Plan is also now well-progressed, and new policies in this Plan may now become relevant in deciding planning applications. You can also view the supporting background evidence for our local plan documents.
This plan, known by us as the 'DMD', sets out two main areas of planning policy; subject specific policies (e.g. housing, extensions, conversions, employment, tourism) to guide decisions on planning applications and policies for specific sites, setting out particular areas of land for development.
