Erosion Monitoring
The Authority undertakes erosion monitoring at a number of sites across Dartmoor National Park through its ranger service and network of volunteers. The Authority is currently developing an Erosion Monitoring Project whereby the public can assist with monitoring key sites by taking a photograph using a smartphone from a fixed location, and sending it to us via an App.
The images sent will help us to assess whether erosion is improving or deteriorating at each site, and whether restoration or repair works are required. It will also enable monitoring of repair works that have been completed.
The Project is due to launch in 2023, and further details, including instructions on downloading the App will be published here.
